UKFast spends £1m on HQ
Internet hosting company UKFast is investing £1m to expand its headquarters to develop a staff training academy... and even a squash court.

The firm currently occupies 8,000 sq ft on the 28th floor of City Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester and  is taking an additional 4,000 sq ft on the 16th storey.

The £20m-turnover business, which employs 160 staff, said the expansion coincides with a recruitment drive to employ an additional 100 people this year. The 16th floor will be home to the UKFast Academy – a training hub for new recruits before they ‘graduate’ to the sales and account management teams.

Both floors will be refurbished and new facilities will include a gym and squash court, showers, crèche and a dedicated film room. Chief executive Lawrence Jones said: “We moved to City Tower in 2007 and we’ve designed an office environment that is unrivalled in Manchester, but we’re growing fast and we need more suitable space to inspire and develop the people who are joining our team."
