Manchester Digital / MMU Business School ProDev Day
Wednesday 12th November 12:00 - 15:30.
Calling on companies to participate
The North-West Digital sector's biggest challenge is attracting and retaining talented potential graduate employees. Too many qualified graduates leave the City and the Region to take up posts in London and the South-East because of a belief that there is no sector here, no work and no career prospects.
Can you and your organisation help us change that?
Manchester Digital and MMU Business School are running an informal Professional Development Day for students and organisations to meet up. Students from disciplines such as Marketing, Enterprise, Digital Marketing, Digital Creative, Graphic Design, Web Development, Hardware/Network Engineering, PR, General Business IT, Advertising and General Business will be participating.
Were inviting students from MMU Business School, and the rest of MMU, as well students from Universities of Manchester and Salford, and students from Manchester College
This event is organised for you and by people like you. Its worth you attending and participating if you would like:
- To talk about the possibility of vacation internships/work to current 1st and 2nd years;
- To talk generally to interested students about opportunities within the Digital sector in the North West;
- To talk about the possibility of part-time work to current 1st and 2nd years;
- To talk about the possibility of year-long placements to current 1st and 2nd years;
- To talk about the possibility of graduate opportunities to final year students and postgraduates;
- To talk about the possibility of setting up in business in the digital sector in the North-West to final year students.
We need companies and organisations to make this work, so commitment means coming and talking with students. This is pretty much like a beauty contest, and although you may not have an obvious opportunity currently, you may see students that are so outstanding, youll want to find something for them. Also - it gives students a chance to see you, and make their minds up about you, the sector and above all - Manchester and the North-West.
Students may well be fielding CVs, and coming with many questions - so think what it is you want from the day.
Our February event was a great success with 35 companies and nearly 500 students from across Manchester's universities and colleges - help us make it a better and bigger event
Please let us know if you will participate. You need to think about possibly bringing a small stand, information about your organisation (and opportunities if they exist) plus you and/or your team.

Our event is free to participate in and everybody involved gives of their time freely - MD members, University staff and participant firms. But we found that there are some inevitable costs involved, such as printing, stationery, water and coffee and other sundries. We'd also like to host a business networking drinks reception at the end of the day for all of our participating firms. If you would like to help sponsor either of these, please contact David on the above email and phone number. It will help us out a lot!
Alternatively, you can donate some money when making your final booking with us online.
