Elections to MD Council
Any paid up member organization of Manchester Digital can put forward an employee or director (or partner) to stand for election. Freelance and individual members can put themselves forward.
Existing council members can stand for re-election.
All candidates can submit a statement of up to 100 words on why they are standing. This information is made available to members on this site and at the AGM to assist them in voting for the new Council.
Election Process
The constitution of Manchester Digital Association requires that the Council be elected by secret ballot at the AGM.
The vote will be conducted as follows:
- Only members of Manchester Digital will be eligible to vote.
- New members will be able to sign up at the start of the AGM.
- 12 candidates will be elected.
- Each member will be able to vote for up to 12 candidates.
- Candidates (who represent a member or who are members themselves) will be able to cast a vote for themselves.
- The votes will be counted and the 12 candidates with the most votes will be elected.
- For the purpose of tie-breaking, members will be asked to rank their votes in order of preference ( '1' for the first preference, '2' for the second preference, and so on up to '12').
- The order of preference indicated by electors will not be taken into account unless there is a tie for the final place(s).
- If there is a tie for the final place(s) the preferences indicated for the candidates tying for the final place(s) will be added up and the candidate(s) with the lowest scores will be elected.
