LIVELINK ‘DEVELOPS’ ITS TEAM TO ACCOMODATE NEW TALENT
Digital consultancy Livelink has expanded its team once again, bringing on board three new developers, Johnathan Glancy, John Sanderson and Joe Brewer. John and Joe are recent graduates and Johnathan is on a year out from his course at Salford University where he has completed two years of a computer science degree. All three will be working on special projects, including the development of new platforms, as well as supporting the team’s on-going client work.
John has recently graduated from Liverpool University with a masters in computer science while Joe has just completed a combined honours course in computer music technology and digital media at Manchester Metropolitan University.
The contracting of all three developers is a result of Livelink’s proactive approach to graduate recruitment. To ensure that it builds relationships with the best candidates, Livelink approaches university course leaders and head hunts the students who have demonstrated the most drive and talent.
Livelink’s managing director, PK Vaish explains: “To stay ahead of our competitors, we need to have the best team. There are many benefits to engaging the most passionate students: They already think outside of the box, they are hungry to learn on the job and they are prepared to give 100 per cent. We want to get this raw talent working immediately on our research and development as they are not thinking commercially yet and there is a great benefit to that. They are at their most innovative and we can learn from them and continue to be challenged ourselves.”
Johnathan is happy to have been given the opportunity from Livelink: “It’s great to be invited to play an active role on the products team. I have been keeping in touch with Livelink for some time and presenting them with regular updates of my progress and I feel that this is a mentoring initiative as much as it is work experience. It’s a great working environment to be in as it promotes creativity and learning and offers the type of hands-on experience and training that will guarantee me a good start in my career. “
Almost 50 per cent of Livelink’s current team joined the company straight from further education courses. The agency prides itself on recruiting graduates in a bid to promote new talent in the industry and to support its ethos of constant learning. The company recently announced the appointment of a digital marketer and is currently recruiting a junior graphic designer.
