FutureEverything is an award-winning innovation lab for digital culture and annual festival, established in Manchester in 1995. For almost 20 years FutureEverything has been exploring the meeting point of technology, society and culture which lies at the heart of the digital debate. Through a community network and regular events it makes connections between thinkers, developers, coders, artists, designers, urbanists and policy makers – inspiring them to experiment and to collaborate in new ways. The FutureEverything festival brings people together to discover, share and experience new ideas for the future. Pioneering the practice of city-wide ‘festival as laboratory’ it combines a large scale cultural event – encompassing art, music and discussion – with new technology, novel research methods and playful social experiments. It has been named by The Guardian as one of the top ten ideas festivals in the world. Year round, FutureEverything champions the role of grassroots innovation in the digital creative economy. It creates opportunities for artists, programmers and coders though regular commissions, hackdays and innovation challenges. Through its research it identifies and explores areas in which technological, creative and societal innovation could facilitate change. Through policy work and thought leadership it advocates for the creative use of open data to improve government and empower citizens and communities. As a world-leader in the digital art sector, FutureEverything commissions artists to illustrate new ideas through creative prototypes, interactive design and participative experiences. It is seen by Arts Council England as “one of the key touch-point organisations” connecting creative communities with academic research, the business sector and policy makers. Past FutureEverything projects include a data visualisation of the global audience response to London 2012, and work in open data that has led to new policy and infrastructure, such as DataGM, the Greater Manchester Datastore. Current projects include EUPORIAS, a European Commission project working with the UK’s Met Office and international climate science organisations to foster a new industry of ‘climate services’, the Greater Manchester Data Synchronisation Programme, the Smart Citizen environmental sensing network and Apps for Europe, a series of local, national and EU-wide competitions to create innovative open data businesses.

Banter Media is a full service Creative Marketing Agency. We handle national and interntional marketing campaigns covering digital marketing aspects such as strategy, creative, video production, web design, graphic design, photography, SEO, PPC and Social Media.

At Banter Media we are the only truly full service marketing agency in the UK. There are many fantastic creative agencies who specialise in many aspects of digital marketing such as search, social, design and web. However, we also pride ourselves on also providing video, film, photography and audio recording services in house. Our Managing Director, Liam Wright, was a successful producer and director before founding Banter Media. The production values and project approach have stayed with us to this day. We now offer the full arsenal of digital media production facilities along with industry leading marketing campaign strategies.

At Banter Media we aim to do everything and more when it comes to helping our clients. We can provide video and film production and post-productiongraphic design, website design, animation, sound recording and SEO services. We do all of this from one location and from one phone number.

When our bat phone rings we don our capes and look to right film-making wrongs, throw a lifeline to bad sound recording, swoop in and save photography, break the bondage of poor graphic design, rescue web design from HTML hell and untangle the riddles of SEO…. And then we cruise around Greater Manchester in the Batmobile! Just look at our awesome media utility belt below.

We live and breathe all elements of media production and we have a genuine passion for what we do.

When you work with us you will understand exactly what we mean by this. None of our projects for our clients feel like ‘work’ because this is what we believe were born to do and we hope to portray this in the work that we create.

Young people spend their lives on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other social media sites. So who better to put at the heart of an organisation’s  online activity than a digitally-connected, jargon-literate young person with a passion for online media?

This is exactly what The Juice Academy offers via its industry-led social media apprenticeship, the first ever in the UK.

Businesses get the opportunity to invest in budding talent across the North West, and young people have a chance to work with some of the UK’s biggest brands including JW Lees, Regatta, BetFred and Pets at Home.

So let’s get on with it.  We’re recruiting and placing 20 ‘Bright Young Things’ (BYTs) per quarter and we’ll be making quite a noise about it so it should be a hotly contested recruitment battle.

I’m sure you have lots of questions so pop along to our FAQ pages (for businesses and for apprentices) or apply here (businessesapprentices) and a member of our team will be in touch.

There is a huge digital skills gap in the UK, limiting the sector’s growth and prosperity AND there are thousands of bright young people out there, many of whom – due to the changes in university fees - might decide the apprenticeship route is more attractive than ever.

Couple this with the fact that these young people ‘live’ on social media channels more than ever before, and  the UK’s first workplace-based social media apprenticeship (The Juice Academy) is born.

The course is the brainchild of Tangerine PR, a Manchester-based PR agency committed to supporting the next generation of ‘bright young things’ into the marketing profession.

The consultancy, with the support of the National Apprenticeship Service and some of the North West’s leading marketing teams (inc JW Lees, Pets at Home, BetFred) and creative agencies (inc BJL, MediaCom, MagneticNorth) manages the development and delivery of the course.
