BBC Search & Navigation have a remit to help our audience discover the best content, that is most relevant and meaningful to them, by providing them a breath of BBC content from the whole of BBC Online.

Navigation team - Senior Software Engineer.
The Navigation Team are looking at ways to improve the BBC Navigation experience for millions of users who access our services each week, through Online, App and iPlayer. Our aim is to create the best user experience for navigating around the BBC site, using data that we can feedback into our Search system, and other products across BBC Online, in order to provide a better platform for our audience and to provide our product management and editorial colleagues with the data they need to drive the creation of personalised experiences that audience members will want to come back to.
Search Relevance team - Senior Software Engineer.
The Search Relevance team work on products that power BBC products including iPlayer, Sounds and News on TVs, the web, mobile apps and voice devices. There are more than 55 million hits on our APIs each week — our team provides one of the key ways people find content on BBC Online. It’s a really exciting time to join us because we’re making big improvements that will help our audiences find the best, most relevant content we have. Our current priorities are quality and improving the breadth of content within the Search estate. We aim to be the best way to find BBC Content for any individual in any context, and we’re improving the relevancy of the results that we return to your users by using the capabilities of Solr and Relevancy tuning methods to feeds to help people discover relevant and related content across the BBC Digital estate.
