Bruntwood own, develop, manage and maintain properties across the Northwest. Our focus is on 'Creating Thriving Cities' which is evident across our website, so have a look to gain more of a perspective on what we do, and how we operate. Our buildings range from collaborative/modern office space, lively retail spaces (Afflecks Palace, Hatch), right through to innovative Science & Technology space.


This role as a Web Developer will work with the Website Manager and Commercial teams to support and extend our digital estate. This role will be based in Manchester City Centre with a mix of remote and office based work.


You will:


  • Provide technical support for the current website
  • Develop the current website functionality
  • Extend the functionality of the current website
  • Help us migrate our other brand websites on to our platform


The web developer is responsible for:


  • Ensuring a pure front-end craftsmanship approach is maintained through a competence in Semantic HTML, SASS/CSS, JavaScript, Performance &** Accessibility.
  • Demonstrate and apply a Test-First attitude to writing software
  • Build out of components used throughout the platform within a React.JS API driven architecture
  • Working with our marketing team, designers and technical teams to deliver functionality on our roadmap
  • Keeping our UX and design at cutting edge
  • Building interactivity and engagement in our existing website
  • Managing own workload to ensure quality work is delivered on time
  • Quickly responding to any outages or issues with the website and resolving or escalating as necessary
  • Communicating change/developments to key stakeholders across the business


Experience requirements:


  • 1-2+ years commercial front-end experience
  • Passionate and capable about pure front-end skills - Semantic HTML, SASS/CSS & vanilla JavaScript
  • Experience working within a React and GraphQL application
  • Appreciation for test-first development methodology
  • Experience with API first/microservices architectures,, SaaS etc
  • Knowledge of Contentful CMS not essential, but an advantage
  • Understanding of Azure DevOps & automation tooling
