This is an important role ensuring new government services meet user needs and are consistently high quality.  

You’ll do this by supporting assessments of services against the Service Standard, to make sure the process is efficient, effective and consistent. You'll also help people in departments understand the Service Standard and how to make digital services so good that people prefer to use them.  

You can help shape the strategic direction of the Service Standard and to improve the service we offer. The role will involve working with departments before, during and after assessments, and supporting communities of Digital, Data and Technology specialists who take part in the assessment process.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with senior stakeholders and experts in digital disciplines, and with those involved in building digital services across all government departments and agencies.

As an Associate Assessment Manager you’ll:

  • coordinate Service Assessments efficiently and effectively, working closely with communities of assessors from across government
  • schedule Service Assessors to ensure that each assessment has a skilled and capable panel of assessors present  
  • provide oversight of Assessments to ensure consistency in outcomes and quality in Assessment reports
  • build capability through developing and running training sessions for new assessors
  • support the collation and presentation of Service Assessment data to inform development of the assessment process and broader digital transformation 
  • support the strategic development of our team, and continuous improvement of the Assessment process


Who you'll be

We’re looking for people with strong interpersonal skills who enjoy working in a delivery-focused, agile environment. We’re looking for people who care about technology and who know how to help projects succeed, and constructively identify issues or risks.

It’s essential that you have:

  • experience of communicating complex subjects in a clear and easy to understand way
  • the ability to make sound judgements under pressure and balance competing demands
  • experience of successfully managing stakeholders, and the ability to form and maintain strong collaborative working relationships
  • the ability to run a process to a high standard, with excellent organisational skills

It’s desirable that you have:

  • experience of working with digital services or in a digital environment
  • familiarity of the public sector and government processes.
  • experience of working in an agile environment
