What you'll do

The Business Change Manager will provide proactive and effective leadership on business change activity. The role will work within the Change & Inclusion Team to support leads in preparing the business for the impact of the changes being delivered to enable our programme of change activity to be successfully delivered.

This role will have centralised oversight and will provide expertise to the business, to deliver effective change across GDS.  This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to make a real impact in ensuring we are delivering change in an engaging and practical way.

As a Business Change Manager, you’ll:

  • provide expert advice on business change activity and work with the change initiative leads to support the delivery of benefits, outputs and outcomes. You will champion the use of best practices through knowledge sharing, communications, training and guidance
  • support the change initiative leads in creating the required business change plan and products. You will also provide the area with relevant tools to help deliver the change
  • lead on advising change initiative leads to ensure active and focused engagement with the key stakeholders who have been identified
  • provide guidance on the change control process, and project plans, to senior stakeholders on how to identify, qualify, and update the business readiness criteria before implementation, and utilise project management tools to track the delivery in a timely manner
  • support change initiative leads to identify and leverage benefits
  • collaborate with the Internal Communications team to advise the Project Manager/Change Initiative Lead to create and maintain communications plans

Who you'll be

We’re interested in people who:

  • have a proven track record in project management and strong knowledge of both agile and waterfall methodologies
  • are able to advise on business change and/or transformation including influencing Project Managers and senior stakeholders
  • have well-developed stakeholder management skills. Experience of successfully building relationships and networks with a diverse range of people is essential
  • are able to effectively and confidently negotiate and develop common goals, and professionally challenge senior stakeholders when necessary
  • can think strategically and can align projects and change initiatives with organisational objectives

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The standard selection process for roles at GDS consists of:

GDS offers hybrid working for all employees. This means that everyone does some working from home/remote working and also spends some time in their local office. You will agree to your hybrid working arrangement with your line manager in line with your preferences and business needs. 

A reserve list will be held for a period of 12 months, from which further appointments can be made.

Candidates that do not pass the interview, however, have demonstrated an acceptable standard will be considered for similar roles at a lower grade.
