Platform Engineer (DevOps)

Currently, we are all working remotely due to Covid-19. As things start to return to normal, any travel would be restricted to your main office branch (Manchester, London or Barcelona) - we’re not a typical consultancy and won’t be asking you to travel all over the place! Any client work that is outside of these locations would be undertaken remotely.

We support our clients in many ways and you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of different internal and client projects. Perhaps you’ll work on a client project from our offices with our team delivery approach. This may be a greenfield project for a startup, or helping to build a mission-critical system for a large enterprise client. Perhaps you’ll work as an embedded craftsperson, working within our client's existing development to help them to get better at writing their own software. Or maybe you're more interested in helping to introduce the values of Software Craftsmanship and Extreme Programming practices to an organisation through coaching & mentoring.We are looking for Platform Engineers that share the same values of pragmatism, professionalism and transparency that we do and would like to work in forward-thinking and collaborative teams.

Requirements

We are growing our Platform Engineering team at Codurance and are looking for people who would be interested in developing their skills under the mentorship of senior engineers, while also contributing to the strategy and ways of working in the department.

You’ll be tackling a breadth of different technologies and challenges, while supported by your wider platform engineering and Codurance team members.

As a consultancy, we welcome diversity of thought and experience, which is definitely evident in the platform engineering space - so whether you have come from a software engineering, networking, system engineering or any other background on your journey to where you are now within site reliability engineering, we’d love to hear from you!

This role would suit someone who has experience with:

• Writing and delivering production code
• Building out production infrastructure
• Provisioning and supporting cloud infrastructure, using infrastructure as code
• A commitment to doing things in a sustainable and secure way.

It would be a bonus if you have:

• Experience in provisioning tools such as Ansible/ Puppet/ Chef
• Worked with containerisation technology and various orchestration platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes etc
