Starting salary: £25k-30k depending on experience
Responsibilities in more detail:
- Being principally responsible for the delivery of text-based content at Custard, including:
- Using data and personal experience to decide upon the most worthwhile content-related activity for each individual campaign
- Performing content audits and keyword research
- Overseeing site restructures
- Writing and editing on-page copy
- Devising strategies for addressing issues such as keyword cannibalisation, low quality scores, duplicate content issues, and gaps in keyword coverage
- Planning content roadmaps and prioritising your team’s activity
- Adjusting your approach to deliver increased ROI in the shortest possible timeframe
- Leading and managing the content team, currently consisting of two content executives
- Devising and executing innovative content strategies for a range of clients, both individually and with other members of the team
- Planning and forecasting for clients and as part of the new business process
- Participating in client calls and meetings, including new business meetings
- Working closely with Custard’s account managers to produce meaningful client reports and deliver commercially-focused advice on how to improve performance
- Helping to build the content team at Custard by training and mentoring junior team members and assisting the senior management team with recruitment of additional staff to the content team
- Assisting with the development of Custard’s public image as digital marketing thought-leaders by writing for our blog, contributing to our social media profiles, and attending industry events such as BrightonSEO and SearchLeeds
- Keeping abreast of best practice, disseminating information about emerging tools and techniques to other staff and clients
Requirements:
- You must have a thorough understanding of current organic search best practice with regards to content.
- Similar experience of content production in paid search and/or paid social is highly desirable, but is not essential.
- At least 3 years in a dedicated SEO-focused content role, with evidence of your involvement in complex projects such as restructures of large sites, site migrations, development of successful campaign strategies etc. from a content perspective
- Excellent written and spoken English skills. The content produced directly by you and by other members of the content team is expected to be client-ready – consequently you will need a strong grasp of spelling and grammar, as well as meticulous attention to detail
- Strong Excel and data analysis skills
