DWP. Digital with Purpose.

What's your favourite agile approach? Scrum, Kanban, Lean or something else?

Do you know and live out the Agile Manifesto? Are there 12 or 14 principles of Agile?

We’re looking an experienced Delivery Manager who’s really into Agile, to lead the expert teams behind a once-in-a-generation digital transformation of DWP, the UK’s largest government department.

You’ll empower our multi-disciplinary digital teams to design, build, maintain and modernise products and services that really work for over 20 million users.

Delivery. Work. People: A day in the life of a Senior Agile Delivery Manager

As our new Senior Agile Delivery Manager you’ll get hands-on with the nitty gritty of delivery in DWP Technology Services.

Tech Services provide the foundations to everything DWP Digital work on – we have some of the most compelling business problems to solve and you’ll motivate our teams, and create the best possible conditions, to solve them.

You mitigate against micro-management. You’ll create an environment of psychological safety for your multi-disciplinary team and enable the work, and not impose how it's done. You’re an expert in getting the best out of experts.

You foster an environment of continuous validation with Agile standards of respect, openness, and courage.

You make your team’s work visible to stakeholders. You’ll arrange demos from user researchers, designers and developers. You give your team the chance to share progress, so we can get iterative feedback, consider solutions and suggestions long before the story reaches production.

We want to empower you to create your own career story and journey as part of our thriving Agile Delivery community. Whether you're a scrum master, a delivery manager, an agile coach, or something else, we want you to use your creativity, experience and expertise to solve your team's problems, minimise noise and enable smooth running.

And we’re a learning organisation, so you’ll help our community grow by coaching and mentoring some of our more junior practitioners, as well as developing your own skills and growing your career.

What skills knowledge and experience are we looking for?

  • Experience of delivering software in an agile environment in multiple phases
  • Promoting a culture of psychological safety in teams, managing team dynamics. Actively contribute to enabling teams to work in a better way.
  • The ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner at all levels.
  • Having a proactive approach to learning and development of yourself and others

Details. Wages. Perks.

You'll join our teams in your choice of Blackpool, Manchester, or Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
