About us

The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) is the UK’s independent authority set up to uphold information rights in the public interest, promoting openness by public bodies and data privacy for individuals. It is our goal to increase the public’s trust and confidence in how their data is used and made available. By staying up to date with evolving technology, we’re able to enforce the laws that we’ve helped shape whilst also providing an excellent public service. Our work is interesting and immensely rewarding – it’s of national importance and increasingly in the public eye. As a result, more people than ever before are turning to us for help. As such, we’re growing and looking to add to our teams in many areas!

About the role

This role comes at an exciting time for the ICO, as we continue to strengthen our Digital & IT Service, embedding a Product Ownership model and Agile ways of working in order to best support our ambitious transformation programme and delivery on our ICO25 plan.

We’ve already improved the working lives of our users through the deployment of ‘cloud first’ laptops, collaboration tools and Office 365, making our users truly agile and connected. Alongside this we’ve delivered major projects such as: a CRM platform to ensure our casework colleagues can work effectively and have easy access to the records they need; a new EDRM to support our corporate record keeping; and an intelligence database to ensure that we make best use of intelligence data.

We want to continue to deepen our relationship with our users, better understanding and anticipating their needs to deliver more value and excellent customer service. In order to support this we continue to build on the product ownership model, enabling delegated accountability, faster decision making, increased agility and better business outcomes.

About you

You will be an experienced Office 365 Administrator / Engineer with a strong understanding of the whole Microsoft Software as a Service suite, and in particular the O365 applications.

Working in our Platforms Product team, you will be responsible for the administration of the ICO’s Office 365 environment, ensuring the needs of the ICO are met and maximum value is delivered from your products. You will work closely with Architecture, Infosec, and Support functions to provide a safe and secure environment that aligns to best practice.

You will be self-motivated and well organised, with a strong focus on user needs and customer service, able to communicate clearly and effectively and collaborate well with users at all levels of the organisation.
