In the Finance Transformation (FT) team we improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the finance function and generate real insights to help deliver value to the business. We are a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, working closely with controls and technology focussed professionals to deliver sustainable, transformative solutions for our clients.

 

Our FT practice is a priority area for significant and strategic growth. The team works with leading corporate clients, focusing on understanding the core issues and opportunities to deliver value-adding change across their Finance functions. The key drivers of change for our clients are: changing regulation, technology implementations, and a desire to progress along the maturity curve.

A client facing senior manager role to support the growth of our FT and UK SOx  / controls transformation Connected Proposition.

 

You will be focussed on supporting our newly formed UK SOx / controls transformation Connected Proposition which brings together several of our Consulting service lines to build a market leading UK SOx offering for our clients. We work with our clients to look beyond compliance positioning internal controls at the centre of business transformation to drive operating efficiency and effectiveness.

 

Successful candidates should have prior experience in a leading consulting practice, as well as in-depth knowledge of transformation programme management, finance processes, finance technology, internal controls and change management.

 

Your responsibilities as a senior manager will include:

 

Engagement delivery

  • Mobilising and managing large transformation programmes and projects including planning, managing and executing the delivery of engagements
  • Managing senior client stakeholders
  • Identifying and exploring performance improvement opportunities for clients
  • Overseeing the writing of client reports and the review and quality assurance of work products
  • Managing cross-functional engagement teams including both internal KPMG and external client team members

Risk management

  • Identifying and managing risks, managing engagement assurance, engagement commercials, and ensuring the Firm’s risk management frameworks are implemented appropriately and effectively

People development

  • Leading large teams and/or contributing to formal training, knowledge sharing, and networking activities for the team
  • Supervising, coaching and reviewing the work performed by peers and colleagues
  • Taking on performance management responsibilities for more junior grades, contributing to annual talent reviews and supporting career progression
  • Acting as a mentor to colleagues within the team and in the wider firm, taking responsibility for cultural improvement and living the KPMG values

Practice Development

  • Leading the development of KPMG specific methodology and intellectual property to bring our UK SOx / controls transformation connected proposition to the market
  • Supporting partners and directors with internal operational responsibilities for the cross functional UK SOx / controls transformation team including revenue planning, resourcing, recruitment, wider team development and community building

Business development

  • Supporting the origination of opportunities for the firm through development of client relationships, and expanding existing engagements to address client challenges beyond the initial scope into further phases of work
  • Leading the preparation of the Firm’s response to client issued request for proposal (RFPs), including orchestrating multiple services lines to architect a comprehensive response for the client
  • Building and leveraging both internal and external relationships to support partners and directors to create business development and sales opportunities for the firm including pulling through other parts of the firm where appropriate
  • Developing market leading materials and a voice-in-the-market through external blogs and points of view  and representing KPMG at external events

 

Our UK SOx proposition looks beyond compliance, using regulatory transformation as the springboard for change to improve all layers the operating model of finance functions

 

Successful candidates must:

  • Have experience in the finance transformation or audit / internal controls practice of a leading professional services firm (or equivalent)
  • Have a proven ability to manage and deliver end-to-end transformation programmes rooted in finance but with impacts across the business, and an ability to work with a variety of stakeholders to achieve transformation and business outcomes
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the operating model of a finance function including systems, data, processes, controls and governance
  • Be able to articulate the challenges currently facing finance functions including in relation to internal controls and the current government proposals in relation to corporate governance reform
  • Be a strong, inclusive people manager who can lead, coach, and develop diverse teams to deliver to deadlines and required quality standards
  • Have strong problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to use data effectively to generate insight and construct solutions

Successful candidates should:

  • Hold an accountancy qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Have deep knowledge and understanding of at least one of the record to report, procure to pay, order to cash and projects processes and interdependencies with other processes
  • Have a proven ability to shape deliverables to meet desired client outcomes
  • Be a strong communicator with the personal skills to build strong and lasting internal and client relationships; and the ability to deliver clear, concise, focused messages to senior finance team members or clients
  • Be an active listener and a strong team player
  • Have flexibility to travel
