This role can be based in any of KPMG’s main regional offices.

The Team

The successful candidate will join our UK Infrastructure Government and Healthcare (IGH) Data Analytics Practice as a Technical Architect focused on leading the technical development and delivery of our Healthcare Digital and Data Analytical Services solutions. You will provide technical analytics solution architecture, development and market expertise to help grow our public sector digital and data analytics offerings across the UK. You will also contribute to the successful delivery of other KPMG services across the public sector while establishing a core set of analytics product services of your own related to health and care. Our services include:
 
Data Modelling and Analytics

• Interactive data visualisation, presentation and reporting
• Dashboard development, publishing and maintenance
• Advanced analytics including exploiting modern data science techniques like machine learning and applied statistics to extract valuable data driven insights
• Cloud-enabled analytical services
• Agile analytics project management and delivery

Data analytics strategy design and implementation

• Developing ad supporting the implementation of data strategy and digital transformation programmes and initiatives

Business and data modelling

• Data blending and database development
• Cost benefit analysis and financial modelling
• Modelling the impacts of business change, including options analysis, cost optimisation, outsourcing and other operational and financial restructuring

We work closely with teams across all functions within KPMG, such as Operational Transformation, Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, Restructuring and others. 

The Role

We are looking for a Senior Manager to help lead our rapidly growing team with strong technical expertise in data visualisation, analytics, and data modelling. The individual should have a proven track record in leading data analytics programmes and projects with exceptional communication and presentation skills.

The Senior Manager will lead multiple projects in the following areas:

• Interactive data visualisation, presentation and reporting
• Dashboard development, publishing and maintenance
• Data strategy design, development and implementation
• Cloud-enabled analytical services
• Requirements gathering and stakeholder engagement
• Rapid proof of concept development
• Cost benefit analysis and financial modelling
• Development and delivery of analytics training
• ETL, data blending and database development

You will build service offerings and take them to market, leading business development including managing bids and proposals and contributing to the development of KPMG’s services through knowledge management and methodology design.

You will also play a leading role in generating sales and leading successful delivery of engagements, taking primary responsibility for the quality of our work and client relationships.

You will manage teams of KPMG professionals on and off engagements, providing leadership and coaching to ensure excellent client delivery whilst enabling their future development.

You will have significant and proven experience, including experience engaging senior leaders and managing complex projects and programmes with multiple work streams.

This role offers the candidate the opportunity to develop and share their extensive knowledge and experience of sophisticated data management and analytics techniques, as well as developing client-facing, project management and consulting skills. The roles require working to tight deadlines, prioritising workload, project management and providing a high level of client service. The candidate will be expected to show clear leadership capability with a track record of developing and coaching people to deliver complex analytics projects.

The Person

Essential requirements

• Experience in leading complex programmes of work, and engaging with senior stakeholders
• Deep analytics and or consulting experience
• Deep understanding and experience of supporting the business development process, including: responding to request for proposals and formally pitching for work
• A proven track record of delivering complex analytical products
• A numerate (computer science or maths-based) degree or equivalent experience
• Excellent communication skills with proven experience of having engaged with clients at the executive and board level
• Data modelling (SQL, Access) and/or visualisation experience (PowerBi, QlikView, Tableau)
• Experience in sales including a track record of supporting revenue growth
• Experience in proposition development and taking ideas to market
• Experience in performance management and developing and retaining talent,
• Experience in leading multiple analytics/modelling and or data strategy engagements simultaneously
• Experience in building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Ability to describe complex technical issues in a clear and non-technical way
• A strong understanding of analytics, decision science, and strategy concepts
• Knowledge of analytics services, products, and key concepts
• Positive approach towards problem solving under pressure, including the ability to think through a problem and apply a logical, analytical approach to develop a solution
• The ability to manage time and work independently with multiple stakeholders
• Ability to quickly assimilate information and propose workable solutions
• Strong analytical and interpretative skills
• Sustained attention to detail

Desirable requirements

These include:

• A professional qualification (e.g. Microsoft SQL Certified Professional)
• A good understanding of public sector data, especially Healthcare

Ideally the candidate will have experience delivering analytics using on-premise and cloud-based technologies, including the following:

• Understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers, and emerging computing trends
• Understanding of data solutions that leverage technology like Microsoft Azure and or SQL, Google Cloud or AWS
• Experience in migrating on premise workloads to the cloud
• Experience in architecting and developing cloud-based solutions
• Experience of applying statistical and machine learning techniques and cloud-based machine learning tools like Azure Machine Learning
• Deep understanding in databases and analytics, including relational databases (e.g. SQL Server)
