Senior Manager – Cost Transformation Operations/Procurement/Supply Chain

KPMG’s Operations practice helps clients build leading practice capability across plan, source, make, move, and sell - focussing on large and medium-sized corporate clients in the FTSE 100 and FTSE 350, as well as Private Equity backed and privately owned businesses. Our team combines deep sector expertise, expert consulting capabilities and prior industry experience. We design and implement procurement and supply chain transformation programmes, implement leading Cloud technology and including digital and technology integration.

The team has exciting opportunities for Senior Managers to lead impactful Cost transformation projects with clients, drive our ambitious growth agenda, support our people, and seek career progression.

We are looking for Senior Managers who possess high quality consulting skills and a record of delivering outstanding results when leading complex projects. These projects should focus on commercial or transformational cost control. The nature of projects we deliver is highly varied, which means we need our Senior Managers to demonstrate an ability to continually adapt and grow their skills and knowledge.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Use leading practice problem-solving methodologies to deliver cost reduction within both Operations and the wider enterprise.
• Lead high quality analysis that combines KPMG expertise and market insight with quantitative and qualitative analytics.
• Act as the primary client interface, providing effective, credible, and timely communications with senior clients.
• Leverage your consulting and industry expertise and network to generate and win new business opportunities and lead the development of business propositions.
• Generate thought leadership, drive knowledge sharing and develop consulting skills within our team.
• Develop an inclusive team culture, inspiring and empowering team members and supporting their career development.

Leadership & Management:

KPMG's Operations team currently comprises of approximately 100 colleagues. You will be responsible for leading projects ranging in length from several weeks to many months and leading large diverse teams. You will also support sales origination and business development activities.

 
Stakeholder Interaction & challenges:

You will be required to regularly interact with Partners and Directors within KPMG to source insight and expertise and to provide progress updates. You will also lead interactions with senior members of the client’s leadership teams. Your focus will be on the private sector. The ability to develop strong relationships with clients from diverse backgrounds and at all levels of seniority, including senior leaders, will be crucial. You will effectively communicate points of view and evidence that shapes client decision making.

Impact, Risk, Accountability & Governance:

This is a high impact role that directly supports our operational capabilities in a period of increasing commercial and environmental challenge. You will be operating within a framework of increasing sustainability governance.

Essential experience

We are looking for someone with an operational background with a specialist focus on cost reduction and value delivery. Ideally, you will have previous experience of consulting within this area and / or have a senior operational management background with skills developed across a variety of markets and sectors. You should have experience in the following areas:

• Planning and delivery of complex cost reduction and cost control programmes across Operational functions and/or enterprise-wide, including, analysis, design, and implementation.
• Transforming operational, supply chain and procurement capability at large private sector clients using digital technology.
• Influencing skills to support organisations understanding and challenging costs.
• Understanding of the current relevant technology market for cost reduction
• Experience of change management in complex multi-business unit / multi-geography environments.
• Experience of managing direct reports and/or project teams.

The following experience would be of additional value:

• Blue Chip, FTSE 100, Fortune 500 company experience.
• Understanding of advanced cost, procurement and supply chain analytics techniques, tools, and approaches.
• Category knowledge of areas of direct and indirect spend.
•    Detailed knowledge of procurement processes, demand and supply planning, warehousing, distribution, S&OP, IBP, and procurement procedures.
