The Educational Trust is seeking up to 5 exceptional individuals to join the organisation as Trustees

The Trust’s overarching aim is to advance education in marketing and advertising and support the development of talent.  It provides bursaries to students who are studying relevant subjects, preferably located in the North West of England who are in financial need.

We are looking for trustees from across the region who will be able to work as part of a team to help set the direction and decision-making of this organisation. Having good links and networks into the marketing and advertising industry or being well networked with the region’s colleges and universities would be advantageous.

The Trustee’s role is to:

  • Use their expertise to raise the profile of the charity across the North West region and grow the reach of its work
  • Work with other trustees to develop and execute a fundraising strategy
  • Represent the Trust at events where there is an opportunity to connect either with funders or beneficiaries
  • Undertake and lead specific project work
  • Ensure that the Trust meets it’s governance requirements
  • Grow the volume of students who receive support from The Educational Trust

Prospective trustees should be committed to The Educational Trust’s vision to advance education in marketing and advertising. They should be able to engage and contribute to the development of strategies and business models required to maximise the impact and value of The Educational Trust’s work. They will ideally have experience of overseeing professional activity within their own. Above all they will be passionate about the role of learning and communications as vital contributors to society.

We are seeking board members with experience in:

  • Finance
  • Marketing
  • Education (preferably FE)
  • PR
  • HR/learning and development

Term of Service: 3 year term. The board is reviewed and approved annually at the Trust’s AGM.

Attendance and availability:

For regular Trust meetings, usually every 2 months or any "emergency" meetings and also at all General meetings, which will normally coincide with Trust meetings.

  • At the events of the Trust – notably promotional events.
  • At working party meetings if a member.
  • To provide advice and support to the Trust, by telephone/email or in person, if required.
