People Business Partner (12-month fixed term contract)

Manchester or London based 

We are now recruiting for a People Business Partner to join our Technology client group on a 12-month contract basis, in either Manchester or London.

As the People Business Partner, you will be working alongside the Head of People Business Partnering and Senior Business Partner in supporting our Technology client group in the organisation. You will support the organisation in its day-to-day people activities, engaging with the Senior Business Partner in implementing transformational change, and the overall P&T agenda. This role will work closely with the CoEs and will be expected to work collaboratively across Ofcom.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting in the delivery of people practices such as workforce planning, pay & performance, employee engagement, organisational design implementation, talent & leadership development and employee relations to meet both current and future workforce needs.
  • Supporting the TDI Group in critical growth over the next 12 months and leaning on previous experience working with these sectors.
  • Working alongside the Senior Business Partner in implementing multiple projects and people initiatives that support the P&T strategy across your specific client groups.
  • Coaching at all levels on HR policy and process, working with the P&T Operations Team operations, and other P&T Centre of Excellence (CoEs) to deliver the right solutions to meet business needs
  • Working in collaboration to ensure organisational design and development solutions drive business transformation and deliver the outcomes required.
  • Coaching and advising Career and Performance Managers to effectively own and lead change within their business areas, influencing and driving cultural change
  • Partnering with the business, ensuring all business activities are carried out in accordance with local legislative requirements, which enhance and protect Ofcom for now and the future.
  • Engaging in MI and data to influence the people related agenda to support continuous improvement in areas such as  diversity, succession and talent planning, colleague absence and increasing colleague engagement
  • Working in collaboration with Reward colleagues to ensure appropriate pay positioning and benchmarking data is available; determine salary positioning for senior hires.
  • Collaborating with P&T colleagues to ensure interdependencies across the groups are identified and addressed, keeping up to date with change plans across the organisation and contributing to these, where appropriate
  • Support in complex employee relations matters and ensuring they are dealt with robustly and pragmatically and acting as a point of escalation for People Advisors managing high risk/senior cases as appropriate.
  • Acting as a coach to support the development and upskilling across P&T
  • Support with the implementation of our HR & Finance System.

 

Skills, knowledge and experience required:

  • Previous HR Business Partner/HR generalist experience 
  • Nice to have: worked within the technology sector
  • Worked alongside colleagues/led team through a period of change and challenge
  • Developed relationships with internal and external business leaders in order to influence, develop, align and review people strategy and practices
  • Tackled process/policy obstacles to support delivery of key business initiatives
  • Coached managers on a range of People initiatives, including leading and managing more effectively.
  • Worked with colleagues from other business functions or CoEs to share knowledge and learning to assist in delivering the right people solution.
  • Preferred experience of working with Workday (Finance & HR System)
