Software Engineer - Cheadle
Flexible UK Location, we support remote working
The Thales UK Engineering function is going through an exciting period of change and growth to become a best in class function and we would love you to be part of our talented Software Engineering team that develop innovative, quality driven software solutions that address our customer’s needs.
As a Software Engineer your team will be responsible for the development of features and enhancement across the entire software development lifecycle – from analysing the customer’s needs, through design, development and testing.
We take pride in the quality standards of our software development and you will do the same by ensuring delivered code follows code quality standards and apply best practices e.g. TDD, static and dynamic analysis and Peer reviews.
In return we want to enable you to be your best so whether that be flexible and remote working arrangements to suit you, mentorship opportunities, continued learning and development, access to mental health support or excellent career growth opportunities. Sound good? Apply now.
In order to be successful in the role you will be able to solve real business problems, pro-actively explaining and clarifying (through NF criteria for instance) the business context and drivers within your team. You are able to simplify complex technical subjects to the team’s stakeholders, junior members and role-model resilience over delivery bumps.
We are looking to recruit at all levels so would be open to discuss opportunities with entry level through to expert. The types of specialisms we look for are below, so if you meet one or more of the following then we would love to hear from you:
Embedded – Real-time, target hardware, C & C++, Rust, RTOS (e.g. VxWorks, MicroC/OS, Embedded Linux), data comms (e.g. 1553, RS422) and networking. Frontend (C++ QT)
Cloud – Azure, Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), IaC (Terraform, Ansible), Java, Python, Go. Frontend (React/Vue)
