£43,000 - £51,800 plus excellent benefits (Grade D17)
Manchester city centre / remote

We’re currently working remotely due to covid. The future will see us working in a hybrid way, with home working sitting alongside use of the office for team collaboration.

We’re looking for a senior technology delivery manager to join our Technology team here at Co-op as we enter an exciting period of tech and business transformation. We’re making our organisation fit for the future by investing in our IT function and working in a more agile way. Our platform operations teams now look after multiple business areas, and in this role, you’ll be supporting our senior leaders specifically across our Funeralcare and Life Planning function. The new technology that you’ll be bringing in will be fundamental to helping us achieve our business objectives.

As a senior technology delivery manager, you’ll work closely with our architecture team to drive the technology roadmap and make sure that the transformation is delivered as planned. You’ll be managing day-to-day operations within your application cluster and will be responsible for continuous delivery of technology changes. We’ll also look to you to remove any blockers, manage technical and business risks, as well as look after commercials, budgets, and resources. If you can bring us the project management or product delivery experience we’re looking for, we can offer you the chance to make a real impact on the way we do business.

What you’ll do

•    take ownership for the delivery of complex technology products and services that are being delivered in your area, to an appropriate level of quality, 24/7
• understand all risks within the assigned technology scope and make sure that suitable mitigations are in place in line and are considered in future budgets
• contribute to the culture of continuous improvement
• co-ordinate and manage third party supplier delivery
• lead a continual planning process in a very complex environment which spans beyond product delivery
•    optimise the delivery flow of teams and identify the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies

This role would suit people who have

•    previous experience delivering a mixed portfolio of projects and products across multiple teams
• the ability to challenge behaviours and ways of working within an organisation
• experience working with multiple delivery methodologies
• the ability to balance multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity
• experience working in and managing multi-disciplinary teams
• strong communication skills and the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation
•    exceptional collaboration skills and above all a team player

Why Co-op?

Here you’ll do work that matters. We’re a commercial organisation with a purpose beyond profit, you’ll have an opportunity to help us build a stronger Co-op and stronger communities. You’ll also get a package that includes:

•    competitive salary
• coaching, training and support to help you develop
• pension with up to 10% employer contributions
• annual incentive scheme
• 28 days holiday (rising to 32 in line with service)
•    discounts on Co-op products and services

Building an inclusive work environment

We’re actively building diverse teams and welcome applications from everyone. But simply having a diverse workforce is not enough. We aim to build an inclusive environment, where everyone can contribute their best work and develop to their full potential. We celebrate our differences, and recognise the importance of teams reflecting the communities they serve.

We can make reasonable adjustments to our interview process according to your needs. And we offer a flexible working environment so you can adjust your hours to suit your personal circumstances. You can find out more about Co-op people policies at coop.co.uk/peoplepolicies.

As part of your application you’ll need to complete an online assessment. It will take you around 12 minutes to complete this test.
