Our client is a well-funded tech house who have established themselves in their niche market as they power ahead with their greenfield development of a revolutionary platform which address key issues in the online gambling industry. With a significant period of their product roadmap approaching, and major projects planned to scale their solutions globally, the Performance Test Lead is a pivotal role which will enable them to achieve their aims.

As the Performance Test Engineer, you will be the internal leader in all Non-Functional testing across the business systems area. Remaining entirely hands on across the end to end testing, including performance and operational acceptance testing, the successful candidate will have the autonomy to build their own team of performance testers which will involve managing the recruitment process and your team culture. With a keen eye on their previous strategies and frameworks, you’ll have the opportunity to re-write their processes and make your own mark on a business which is set to be one of the UK’s next tech giants.

The team are working remotely at the moment but plan to return to a part remote / part office working environment with 2 days per week in their Manchester City Centre office.

Key Responsibilities of the Performance Test Engineer:

  • Own performance testing area whilst being responsible for the management of performance testers.
  • Work closely with Test Leads & Test Managers across technical areas to ensure non-functional tests are covered in the SDLC
  • Full ownership of prevention of production incidents regarding non-functional requirements
  • Monitor, manage and enforce quality gate processes to prevent defect seepage into downstream test processes or final stage production
  • Support the Head of QA on testing strategy & highly technical issues across the product range

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Commercially experienced using performing testing & modelling
  • Experience of testing using JMeter, Visual Studio, GitHub, Jenkins, Selenium & Postman
  • Cloud solutions knowledge using Azure DevOps, HP QC / Jira
  • Exposure to programming languages (but there’s no expectation for your to jump in and work hands on with the code). The current platform is built using the Microsoft stack (.net core) with modules also built in Node.js & React.js.
  • Naturally tendency to be a problem solver, having a continuous feedback & improvement mindset.
