Your role includes.

  • Being a trusted advisor, guiding our clients towards a successful solution to their data challenges.
  • Taking part in early engagement to help create a compelling vision of an Agile, data-driven organisation.   
  • Guiding and de-risking the delivery of data projects, promoting working iteratively to incrementally add value. Mediating, resolving conflicts and escalating when necessary.  
  • Supporting cross-functional data teams delivering data platforms, products and services in the cloud and in clients’ data centres.  
  • Helping stakeholders define both functional and non-functional requirements and ensuring solutions meet these requirements for performance, scalability, availability, security, and manageability. and sustainability
  • Aligning work across the client’s organisation and their data strategy, taking a key role in choosing appropriate technologies, preparing performance and cost estimates for various use cases.   
  • Providing expertise on data privacy and information security topics whilst keeping up to date with relevant legislation e.g., GDPR, ensuring our clients’ regulatory compliance.   
  • Building capability in the architecture community and collaborating with other data roles such as other Architects, Data Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists (i.e. providing guidance, support, and knowledge-sharing opportunities through forums and talks)
  • Keeping yourself technically sharp, being open to learning new and emerging technologies, approaches and paradigms
  • Mastering the big data world and help our customers to make their own data fit for business or operational purpose, whether in the Cloud or in their own data center.
  • Leading data and devops engineers within your teams
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and clients, be it onsite, in the Zuhlke office, or from home.  
  • Travelling to other Zuhlke locations, e.g. in mainland Europe, for project work or for developing competencies across the Zuhlke group.


We would love to hear from you if you have ANY of the following;

  • A clear understanding of the business value of your work and focus on delivering that value to your stakeholders transparently.
  • Confident decision making and the ability to explain processes or choices as needed. Being able to articulate a technical solution and its value to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Accustomed to working in fast-paced, Agile delivery-oriented environments, with an emphasis on quality.
  • Deep functional knowledge of key data concepts and technology sets (e.g., data modelling, ETL/ELT, streaming and batch processing, data contracts)
  • Excellent understanding of information security and data governance.
  •  Expertise of a variety of approaches to data platforms (e.g., Data Lake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, MDM, Virtualisation/Federation, event-driven processing and organisational paradigms (e.g., Data Mesh, Hub and Spoke and Data Fabric).
  • High degree expertise with big data infrastructures and concepts for storing and processing large and/or heterogeneous data volumes.
  • Highly expert in the dynamics related to the various types of structured and unstructured data (e.g., text, tabular, graph, time-series, geospatial, image, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of the needs of many types of data consumers including Analysts, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence teams and Management stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify, develop and close opportunities in enterprise data solutions, within new or prospect customers.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java/C# and SQL
  • Deep experience with the most popular public cloud providers(i.e. AWS, GCP and Azure) and familiarity with their best practices, common data patterns and the most important services
  • Strong experience with databases (relational/NoSQL) and containerisation.
  • Numerous experiences working in small and big projects and initiatives to implement data driven strategies
  • Familiarity with Data Ecosystems and Collaboration concepts
