CODE COMPUTER LOVE WINS BIMA GRAND PRIX

Manchester-based digital communications agency, Code Computer Love, has become the first agency outside of London to win the BIMAS Grand Prix. Code scooped the top prize for its work on Future Proof, an educational CD Rom produced for Keele University, that is designed to encourage 14-16 year old students from lower socio-economic backgrounds and under-privileged families to progress to higher education.

Future Proof sets out to both educate and inspire a target age group that is notoriously cynical, critical and non-assuming. It illustrates information about life at university, degrees and career choices, while maintaining a creative, humorous and interactive style throughout. Code Computer Love director, Louis Georgiou, comments, “We incorporated MTV-style video clips and real people from similar families and backgrounds to help bring practical stories to life. We felt that this approach, combined with interactive games and quizzes, would be guaranteed to engage the target audience throughout.”

Commenting on behalf of the BIMA judging panel, Alasdair Scott, chairman of the BIMAs 2004, praised Future Proof for ‘the quality and depth of its design and its relevant content’. Scott added, “It is a great user experience and has been correctly targeted at its audience. Quite simply, it just blew our socks off.”

Code Computer Love, formed in April 1999, has an impressive client list which, in addition to Keele University, includes Kimberly Clark (Huggies and Kotex), Centura Foods (Sharwood’s), HMV, Blue Arrow, BUPA, Dr. Martens
