Step into a rewarding role in our 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T) division. As a UX Consultant, you'll stay challenged, providing key clients with day-to-day advice and working closely with a wide variety of Users and stakeholders across interesting and engaging projects. You'll be trusted to advise, ideate, innovate, research and design next generational solutions and develop client recommendations.

Your purpose:

As a UX Consultant, working within our Technology Solutions Practice, you'll be on the front lines: embedded in client projects to improve the delivery of emerging technology and solving business and user problems via technology development. Working closely with Users, Stakeholders and Scrum Development teams, you will be instrumental to the research, design and delivery of digital experiences to our prestigious clients; working with their end-user and customer communities to gather insights, produce prototypes and gather feedback on designs.

In this role you will work with other disciplines in the Technology Solutions practice creating innovative solutions that meet Users Needs and delight customers and clients. This will involve you championing and advocating User Centric/Human Centric approaches, working to ensure that solutions and functionality are based around valid User Needs. You'll work in Agile/Scrum environments where you will lead and facilitate workshops and research sessions, to understand User’s pain points, journeys and needs; before translating requirements into solutions using wireframes, prototypes and generating User Stories/Functional specifications working closely with developers.

What you can bring?

Essential:

  • Experience applying a User Centric Design approach to digital and software projects, working closely with end users and stakeholders.
  • Comfortable producing high quality UX outputs including: Personas, Journey Maps, Blueprints, Site Maps/IA.
  • Experience at creating wireframes, functional specifications and interactive prototypes using suitable software (Figma / XD / Sketch).
  • Planned and led User Research sessions to capture insights and needs and playing this back to client stakeholders with a suitable narrative.
  • Working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams and with End Users, to understand, research and design digital solutions.

Desirable:

  • GDS (Government Digital Services) experience.
  • Knowledge in one of: Information Architecture; Service Design; Interaction Design; UI Design; Design Systems; Visual Design.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications in UCD.
  • Previous consulting experience: a track record in client engagement and delivery.
