We are recruiting for a Business Analyst on a 6 month contract (Outside IR35).

What would you be responsible for in this role?

  • Investigate and clarify the Business’s expressed desires in order to determine underlying issues and causes.

  • Plan and implement an analysis approach (e.g. requirement elicitation, documentation and management), ensuring this aligns to product team backlog and does not impact velocity

  • Map as-is and to-be processes as part of a drive to deliver new and improved strategies and Target Operating Models

  • Draw out, document and track key dependencies across in-flight projects/programmes and BAU

  • Ensure the quality and implementation of all business requirements.

  • Maintain strong relationships with Business and Digital stakeholders, based on credibility, sound judgement and consistently delivering on our promises.

  • Deliver clear and quality functional and non-functional specifications which can be easily consumed by a range of technical colleagues, and can be understood by non-technical colleagues.

  • Develop and manage documentation to agreed standards

  • Lead the specification of acceptance criteria and collaborate with testers and users in the creation of test plans and scripts.

  • Ensure that all designs and solutions satisfy our Business requirements.

  • Ensure that requirements are captured accurately and documentation adhere to BA Community best practice.

  • Understand data requirements, ensuring data quality, usage and storage

  • Adhere to change control procedures 

  • Understand, articulate and escalate resource requirements, issues, risks and dependencies in a timely fashion

  • Complete other activity over and above those listed in the role profile, appropriate to your skills and experience.

    • Demonstrable ability to plan and implement an approach for requirements elicitation, drawing from experience in applying a range of waterfall and agile BA techniques including, but not limited to SWOT, MOST, PESTLE, scope definition (including definition of critical success factors), domain modelling, process modelling, data definition and modelling, non-functional requirement definition, use case definition, requirement prioritisation, interviewing, observation, planning and running workshops, root cause analysis and prototyping.

    • Demonstrable ability to plan and implement an approach for requirements definition and management, drawing from experience in applying a range of techniques including, but not limited to the creation of written artefacts, such as business cases, scope definitions, business requirement specifications, user stories, story maps, use cases, user interface specifications, data dictionaries and flow diagrams and prototypes.

    • Skilled in artefact management, including document reviews and walkthroughs, management of sign off, versioning and change control.

    • Considers the required level of requirement decomposition, the level of detail to be specified, and the need to create different viewpoints to represent the same need, depending on the knowledge and understanding of the stakeholders.

    • Demonstrable ability to plan and implement an approach for ensuring requirements are met, drawing from experience in applying a range of techniques including, but limited to supporting vendor selection, supporting pilots/proofs of concept, planning and leading show and tells, requirement traceability management, design and test plan reviews, measuring solution performance and assessing solutions against pre-agreed success factors.
