DWP. Digital with Purpose.

We are seeking experienced Digital Project Managers to lead end-to-end delivery of complex digital projects in a fast-paced, transformative environment.

Our teams use fresh ideas and leading-edge tech to build and maintain digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, every day and at key moments in their lives.

DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support and empower millions of people.

The scale of what we do is extraordinary, the problems we have to solve are rich and complex, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.

Deliver. Work. Projects.

Our Digital Project Managers use a range of skills and methodologies, managing multi-functional delivery teams to deliver change, maintain our core applications and deliver new services that support the lives of millions of people.

You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of full projects or parts of more complex large-scale programmes, ensuring delivery meets agreed standards of quality, time, and cost, while managing governance, risks, issues, and dependencies through to resolution.

You'll track progress and budgets, report to senior stakeholders, manage change and cross-project impacts and maintain strong governance.

As a team leader, you'll also foster collaboration, resolve conflicts, and build a positive culture, while also developing the strong stakeholder relationships needed on a programme of work like this.

You'll be part of thriving Agile Project Delivery community. Your career development and learning will be fully supported with access to coach, mentoring and whatever suits your learning style best.

We'll assess you against these behaviours during the selection process:

  • Can demonstrate effective project controls to demonstrate the health of the projects they are responsible for and react accordingly to the information gathered.
  • Proven experience of building and managing effective stakeholder relationships to shape the outcomes of a project, considering different individual needs, views, and ideas.
  • Demonstrable experience of building team dynamics and identifying ways to improve the way the team is working
  • Communicate in a straightforward, honest, and engaging manner, choosing appropriate styles and tools to maximise and check understanding and impact.
  • Proven ability to take full ownership of digital projects, including defining the strategy, setting the approach, leading facilitation, and ensuring successful delivery. Particularly where projects had direct business impact and were subject to strict deadlines.
