Background

GAIN LINE is a brand new company that has been created by WilsonCooke/Holdings to deliver consulting and software development services for SMEs. We exist to help our clients generate greater commercial gains, through the digital optimisation of business processes.

A large part of our offering is the conduct of Discovery sessions with clients to understand how data-driven changes to process, products, services and software can improve efficiencies and add value for them. We are looking for a Business Analyst to join our team and help us develop this offering.

Responsibilities

As a GAIN LINE Business Analyst, you’ll work with our clients, helping them manage, change and plan for a future in line with their goals. You'll need to understand current organisational situations, identify future needs and work with the GAIN LINE Team to create solutions to help meet those needs in relation to digital information and software systems. We’ll like you to be able to: 

  • Communicate with clients to understand the needs of their departments and their organisation as a whole

  • Evaluate business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions

  • Use data modelling practices to analyse your findings and create suggestions to clients for strategic and operational improvements 

  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats

  • Create buy-in by communicating the benefits of your recommendations across key client stakeholders and help to address any uncertainty and concern

  • Produce written documentation to support your work, report on your findings through presentations to client stakeholders 

  • Work with client stakeholders to understand and investigate feedback into the service, function, or product provided

  • Understand how to investigate, analyse, visualise, articulate and solve complex problems and concepts, and make disciplined decisions based on available information

  • A knowledge of agile methodology and the ability to apply an agile approach to all aspects of your work

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and use an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery

  • Apply thinking, gathering and analysing information using comprehensive tools and techniques

  • Ability to identify, define and manage the objectives of a business, specifying requirements from both a business and user perspective to enable agreed changes to be implemented effectively

  • Ability to identify and explore opportunities for service and business improvement, to drive analysis and identify, prioritise and implement improvements and efficiencies, ensuring that the organisation derives maximum value from services in particular the potential for automation

  • Represent real-world situations to aid the communication and understanding of different scenarios - existing, conceptual or proposed

  • Understand how the digital economy is changing user behaviour and the business landscape, making informed decisions based on user needs, available technology and value for money

  • Knowledge of how to maintain and constantly iterate the structures that make up a business enterprise or architecture

  • Ability to assess current capabilities, identify and interpret business objectives, strategy and inter-relationships with people, data and processes to create an operating model as well as how to develop this process, helping to define any constraints or relevant guiding principles for effective governance and evolution to achieve the new state transition

  • Knowledge of the most appropriate methods and tools, ensuring these are adopted and used to plan, develop, test, manage and maintain a system effectively
