The role can be based in anyone of our regional offices in the UK and will include travel; candidates must have a willingness to travel frequently, both domestically and internationally on occasions, with the potential to be away from home for set periods of time.

The Role

This role is to join our UK Healthcare practice as a Senior Manager focused on the growth of our provider improvement account. The role is based in the UK within our Infrastructure, Government and Health (IGH) Operational Transformation (OT) capability.

 

As a Senior Manager in our growing health and human services (HHS) practice, you will be central to the development of our account strategy as well as implementation of large scale public service reform, sustainable performance improvement and transformation programmes. Our growth ambitions are significant and we have already secured notable market share in the provider improvement market through our Operational Excellence approach, which blends global market-leading tools, techniques and practice with deep-rooted NHS experience and insight.  Your role is to help us to continue to grow our provider client base through the delivery of exceptional client outcomes and continued leadership and development of our team.  Outside of client engagements, you will actively contribute to the internal strategy and day to day running of the HHS team as a member of our Leadership team.  You will work closely with HHS & OT Partners and Directors nationally and within your region.

 

Responsibilities

  • Revenue and Sales – As a Senior Manager , within OT & HHS, you will help us to secure continued year-on-year growth; identifying the market opportunity, leading and developing the team and leveraging new and existing KPMG offers to respond to this market opportunity
  • Leading multi-disciplinary teams across engagements of all sizes, ensuring the highest quality outcomes for clients , on the job development for teams and continued enhancement of KPMG offers. Experienced oversight to identify, sell and deliver HHS advisory projects (new and sell ons) informed where applicable by UK or Global credentials and propositions You will need to demonstrate building diverse and inclusive teams to be successful in this process.
  • Building strong client networks and relationships, becoming a trusted advisor to your clients.
  • Coaching and developing team members through sharing of experience and knowledge, as well as managing the performance and development of other team members
  • Upholding KPMG’s values by acting with integrity
  • Project managing engagements to deliver high quality work in a timely manner to include: scoping / financial management (budgeting) / engagement and risk management / production and review of deliverables.
  • Fee generation through actively identifying and progressing business development opportunities, as well as managing sales activities such as proposal development and client presentations.
  • Contributing to practice management, e.g. knowledge sharing, training, people and proposition development

 

The Person

We expect that you will have:        

  • A proven track record of both selling and delivering healthcare advisory services to the NHS, focused on provider improvement within a Consultancy firm.
  • Knowledge and understanding of:
  • Healthcare consultancy market opportunities for NHS providers, informed by leading complex programmes of work to deliver operational efficiency
  • The changing healthcare landscape across the English NHS, informed by substantive service in the NHS
  • Knowledge and understanding of NHS policy, structures (regulation, commissioning and providers), and standards
  • Knowledge of Lean theory
  • Experience of:
  • Engaging health and social care system stakeholders in the UK and aligning them behind agreed vision and strategic objectives
  • Leading and delivering large complex programmes of work to improve operational efficiency, this will need to be demonstrated across a breadth of projects
  • Leadership – the role will help to lead, recruit and build a diverse and inclusive UK based provider improvement team. The successful candidate will need to leverage teams from existing capabilities to work in this market, as well as build a dedicated market facing group of specialists from across aligned healthcare proposition teams.
  • Global Impact – the individual will be expected to be an ambassador for the U.K. and Global KPMG healthcare advisory work and grow knowledge, skills and credentials within the wider global firm. They will likely join our KPMG global connected healthcare group.
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) - Technical competence must be in provider improvement, gained within a UK NHS and Consultancy setting.
  • Credibility in the market - The successful candidate must be able to credibly represent KPMG’s Healthcare offer to client executives in order to scope and win profitable work in the market themselves. 
  • Relationships – The individual appointed will have proven relationships across the  UK NHS providers and regulators

Ideally degree level qualified, but not essential for the right person with the right experience
