Job Purpose

We are looking for a Programmatic Trader to join our programmatic trading team in the fastest growing area of The Freethinking Group. The right candidate is someone who has the necessary skills, expertise and experience in digital trading to independently and diligently manage all aspects of a programmatic media activation, from planning and implementation, through to optimisation and problem resolution, to campaign reporting and insight delivery. You’ll have the opportunity to shape the future of Rommatic’s trading operation and progress rapidly as programmatic plays an increasingly important role in the media mix to reach today’s highly connected consumer.

The Role

Our new Programmatic Trader will join a rapidly growing business based in Manchester that is striving to be the biggest trading desk outside of London and encourages flexible working. The right candidate will need to; put integrity above all else, be passionate about digital advertising, show fearlessness when testing new optimisation methodologies, be motivated by success, be intrigued by questions that require lateral thinking, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and enjoy working within a small team in an independent company.

You’ll be joining the Rommatic team with a focus on activating and optimising standard/native display, in/outstream video including YouTube, digital audio, connected TV and digital outdoor campaigns. You must therefore have a strong technical understanding of programmatic buying through major DSPs and extensive trading experience with at least one major platform, such as DV360, Xandr, Amazon DSP, The Trade Desk, etc. You will have high levels of responsibility for the Republic of Media account base and work across a wide range of brands including The Scottish Government, Beaverbrooks, ScotRail, STV, Magners, Tennent's Lager and more.

Communication

A strong ability to interpret and contextualise different areas of expertise

Confidence to deal with stakeholders, clearly, effectively and in a polite manner

Knowledge

A minimum of 12 months experience in a programmatic trading role

Experience and competence within at least one of the highlighted DSPs

Confidence in running reports, analysing and interpreting raw data using Excel to make performance optimisation decisions and deliver insights based on findings

Experience with Campaign Manager 360, Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager and/or one additional DSP is desirable, though not essential

General

You’ll be an inquisitive, highly numerate and detailed individual

You’ll have a passion for programmatic ad tech and digital media in general

You’ll enjoy learning about platform developments and get the best out of them

You’ll be able to manage your time and prioritise tasks effectively
