Role Summary

Working within an Agile environment you will take a key role within the business as a Software Architect. You will be responsible for leading a team and the alignment of the technical direction. Providing a strong technical direction involves establishing a technical vision, resolving technical disagreements and managing the technical quality of team deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Set the expectations for the code quality and corresponding KPIs

  • Setup and follow the application of the coding practices

  • Actively contribute to the technical solution definition and improvements

  • Contributing to the code development at least 50% of his/her time

  • Help the team focus on cross/non-functional requirements

  • Engage and role-model the pair-programming and pair-reviewing sessions

  • Educate and mentor junior developers to help them grow in their role

  • Aligning both Development and DevOps priorities to meet technical goals

  • Monitoring of security and commercial impact of developments on the platform

About you

  • Team player with a sharp intellect, challenging approach and a “can do attitude”.

  • Significant experience in execution of the full software engineering lifecycle (both traditional and agile) – including operational deployment knowledge with modern development practices and tools .

  • Experience of multi-stakeholder change management activities in a complex environment

  • Experience of delivering software in the context of system level and system of systems programmes

  • An understanding of the exploitation of Architectural modelling techniques.

  • Able to influence a wide range of people to get things done – needs to be highly effective in a matrix based organisation – encourages an open environment where information and ideas are shared and innovative thinking is stimulated

  • Contextualisation: pro-actively explaining and explicating (through NF criteria for instance) the business context and drivers to your team

  • Vulgarising: contributing educate and simplify complex technical issues to the team stakeholders and junior members

  • Keep calm and execute: role-model resilience over delivery bumps, buffering your team away from unnecessary stress

  • Craftsmanship workshops

  • Work closely with PO and UX/UI
