Application Engineer – Food Retail
Circa £34,000 plus great benefits (Work Level 6A)
Manchester city centre (hybrid working)

We’re looking for an Application Engineer to join our wider Digital Technology & Data team at Co-op to provide technical support for food store refits and new store launches. In this role you’ll work in a hybrid way – spending a minimum of three days each week working from the office (find out more about our hybrid working policy at colleagues.coop.co.uk/hybrid-working-policy).

As an Application Engineer at Co-op, we’ll look to you to collaborate with a variety of teams across the business, such as property, to make sure our stores are equipped with the IT systems and hardware they need to create a great in-store experience for our customers and member-owners.

What you’ll do

  • Promote adherence to our application strategy and best practice
  • Deliver application designs, building and implementing activities across a variety of programmes and projects across
  • Learn and work with IT EPOS (Electronic Point of Sale)
  • Plan and complete project handover activities to the relevant service and support teams
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners
  • Identify and explore opportunities to continuously improve our service

This role would suit people who have

  • Strong IT skills, with the ability to use Microsoft Office packages and learn new technologies
  • A good understanding of software enhancements and support improvements
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced and complex environment
  • Good relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and challenge people inclusively
