Interaction Designer
£35,000 to £45,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 6A)
Manchester city centre (hybrid working)
We’re looking for an Interaction Designer to join us in Manchester to help design and deliver high quality and user-friendly digital experiences for our customers, colleagues, and members.
In this role you’ll sit in our Operational Innovation team, who are responsible for researching, designing, and improving the digital products and services used by our food store colleagues. As an Interaction Designer at Co-op you’ll work in a hybrid way – splitting your time between home and the office.
What you’ll do
- Work closely alongside our product, engineering, and delivery colleagues to design digital products and services
- Spend time with our food store colleagues, using co-design methods to understand their needs
- Make improvements to our digital products and services based on data, accessibility, user needs, and business goals
- Collaborate with user researchers to better understand the problems our products and services aim to solve
- Use product analytics, team feedback, and user insights to make and support interaction design decisions
- Create sketches, wireframes, and high quality designs, and build prototypes in Figma
- Share your ideas at design review sessions and provide project updates at daily stand-ups
This role would suit people who have
- Experience using industry design systems, and tools such as Figma and Sketch
- Experience taking basic data on user behaviour from product analytics tools, and conducting basic usability research tasks
- Experience running collaborative feedback workshops with both design and non-design colleagues
- A good understanding of accessibility and an interest in developing your awareness of the topic
- Good communication skills, with the ability to translate complex language for non-technical audiences
