We’re looking for a curious, proactive, and ambitious Undergraduate Cyber Security Analyst to join us in Manchester on a 12-month work placement. In this role you’ll work in a hybrid way – splitting your time between home and the office.

As an Undergraduate Cyber Security Analyst at Co-op, you’ll join our Information Security & Risk team and support your colleagues with incident prevention, investigation, and resolution activities across the business. This team are responsible for identifying and managing potential risks and vulnerabilities, continuously monitoring Co-op systems for threats and responding to security incidents when they occur.

What you’ll do

• Support with designing, configuring, implementing, and maintaining our Co-op security toolset (e.g. anti-virus, data loss prevention, web & email filtering etc)
• Assist the team with incident investigations and help to resolve and respond to security incidents
• Support colleagues with the ongoing improvement plan for information security at Co-op
• Attend daily stand-ups and regular community events with the team

This role would suit people who

• Are currently in their second year of studying towards an undergraduate Cyber Security-related degree
• Have a good understanding of computer and network technologies and a passion for developing their career
• Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Have good communication skills, with the ability to translate technical language for a non-technical audience
