Our client, a UK leading eCommerce brand, are searching for a Front End Developer with a natural creative flair to join their team. Joining a natural Tech-First organisation, the Front End Developer will join a wider creative team to own the front end development across the . Specialising in HTML, CSS & JavaScript with a keen interest in UX & CRO, you will play a key role in the development of the group’s portfolio of websites throughout their digital transformation.

This role is ideal for a Web Developer who has a core passion for Front End Development. Being responsible for the transition of the site towards a heavily CRO focused experience, the Front End Developer could be a graduate or an experienced developer who’s searching to join a truly creative unit. Coding designs from the in house creative team, the Front End Developer will be truly encouraged to thrive through further training and conferences which will allow you to study the art of Front End Development, as opposed to sit and churn out websites. The focus of this role is to learn the subtleties of maximising user conversion whilst creating a seamless digital experience across the brands websites. 

This role is flexible to their working environment. If you prefer fully remote, that’s absolutely fine. If you’d prefer to be in their Manchester based office 2 days per week, that’s equally fine. Their only ask is you’re able to head into their office for one day every 3 weeks for team updates and the rest is flexible to you.

Key Responsibilities of the Front End Developer:

  • Translate creative briefs into front end solutions, ranging from micro-sites, landing pages, briefing pages and more.
  • Take technical control of front end development across 4 websites which fall within the group.
  • Able to combine a keen eye for design, with understanding of UX / UI to ensure that the digital experiences across the business are fluent and attractive to customers.
  • Passionate about moving into a CRO focused development role with the support of CRO experts
  • Maintain up to date on modern front end techniques and methodologies, with the freedom to introduce new concepts as you see fit.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in a commercial Front End focused role would be a benefit, but wider Web Development experience or a graduate would be considered.
  • Comfortable writing clean code across HTML, CSS & JavaScript (with the autonomy to introduce wider frameworks as you see fit)
  • Knowledgeable using WordPress templates
  • Able to transform PSDs through to fully functioning web pages
  • Desire to step into the world of CRO, with any exposure to A/B testing a bonus (but in no way necessary).
  • Understanding of UX / UI Techniques
  • A keen eye for design (but you do not need to be a designer!)
