Coding, Minecraft and Game Design this Summer Holidays

Explore a different side of technology by taking control of materials, equipment and code. Under the close mentorship of expert tutors, students will engineer their own original work, designing games, building custom projects and upgrading their digital skills in a fun and supportive environment.

The summer programme runs for two weeks, 3rd - 7th August and 10th - 14th August. The following courses are on offer:

Teen Hardware and Electronics with Arduino

Campers are invited to wire up the world around them using an Arduino, coding skills and their own imaginations. This introduction to electronics and cyber-physical systems will have students experimenting with inputs, sensors and orogramming as they create gadgets and robots.

Coding Games with Java

Learn coding by building your own game. This camp takes teens and older children through the entire game-design and build process, from storyboarding to testing and debugging, as they learn Java along the way.

Teen Coding with Python

A straight-up computer science course that teaches core coding fundamentals in order to develop programs and solve problems.

*NEW* Minecraft Maker

Junior gaming enthusiasts can get to grips with 2D mapping, 3D design, basic circuitry and electronics and even physical making as they explore and expand their Minecraft universe.

Video Game Design

A staple of the Fire Tech Camp curriculum, this camp gives younger students (aged 9-12) the chance to develop their very own video game while gaining exposure to object-oriented programming. Campers will come away with their own creations which they can play, share and continue to develop at home.

Full information about each course is available on the Fire Tech Camp website, or give the team a call to find out more. Five days of intensive making and tech costs £400. A limited number of scholarships are available.
