What does your organisation do?
Adyen is a global payment company that allows businesses to accept e-commerce, mobile, and point-of-sale payments. ... Adyen's online payment platform connects to payment methods across the world.
What do you think is currently the biggest issue facing the digital and tech industry?
Speed - the need for businesses to remain agile and respond to the changing needs of consumers without adding complexity to retail businesses
What is your organisation’s biggest achievement?
Adyen has seen rapid growth and success over the last 12 years and partnered with a number of the world's leading brands including Uber, Spotify, and eBay to disrupt the way payments work. Despite such rapid growth Adyen’s greatest success is to remain true to our formula and continue to make good choices and build for the good of all.
What would you consider to be your organisations biggest challenge?
Changing the retail mindset – payments now play an integral role in ensuring retailers delight their customers through unique experiences on any channel. However for many years payments were viewed as a commodity, playing no significant part in the customer experience itself - this view needs to change and payments need to be considered differently.
What do you think the future looks like for Manchester’s digital and tech sector?
Manchester's digital and tech sector is really vibrant right now - Adyen moved to Manchester to be part of an ecosystem that is set to re-invent retail through the use of technology and the energy Northern teams bring to the game.
Tell us something we might not know about your company?
Adyen is Surinamese for "Start over again” - which is what we set out to do - to bring a brand new approach to payments.
