Talking Tech: Manchester Digital Meets NDC Events
After a successful online debut during the pandemic, NDC Manchester is finally coming to the city for an in-person event - bringing with it an incredible lineup of speakers, workshops, and ideas shaping the future of AI and cybersecurity. We caught up with General Manager Jakob Bradford to find out what attendees can expect this December.
NDC has become a globally recognised developer event series. What makes NDC Manchester 2025 particularly exciting for the local tech community?
NDC Manchester 2025 brings together world-class speakers and outstanding local talent, creating a unique opportunity for the region’s tech community to learn, connect, and innovate. With a strong focus on AI and cybersecurity, the event offers practical insights and cutting-edge knowledge for developers, engineers, and tech leaders who want to stay ahead of the curve.
This year’s conference focuses on AI and Cyber Security — two topics that are transforming the industry. How will these themes come to life across the talks and workshops?
AI is reshaping every aspect of technology, and cybersecurity is at the forefront of this transformation. Our agenda dives deep into both domains — from practical applications of AI to advanced security strategies — and explores their intersection. Expect sessions on real-world use cases, emerging threats, and hands-on techniques that attendees can apply immediately.
The speaker lineup includes big names like Gareth Heyes, Lianne Potter, and Jeff Watkins. What do you look for when curating your speakers, and what kind of sessions should attendees be most excited about?
We look for speakers who combine deep technical expertise with the ability to inspire and share actionable insights. Our lineup blends industry veterans with rising stars, ensuring a diverse range of perspectives. Attendees can expect sessions that span foundational knowledge, advanced techniques, and forward-looking trends — all designed to deliver real value.
Beyond the talks, NDC is known for its hands-on workshops and social events. What experiences or community moments can attendees look forward to in Manchester?
We kick off with three immersive workshops covering AI mastery, red teaming for LLMs, and agile threat modeling — perfect for those who want hands-on experience. Beyond the sessions, NDC Manchester is about community: our Wednesday evening dinner at the Deansgate Hotel offers a relaxed, social setting to network with peers and speakers over great food and drinks.
For developers and teams thinking of attending, what’s the best way to make the most of the conference — and are there any sessions or features they shouldn’t miss?
Plan ahead! Review the agenda, prioritize sessions that align with your goals, and don’t miss the workshops for hands-on learning. Engage with speakers, join the social events, and take advantage of networking opportunities — these connections often lead to collaborations and new ideas. And of course, the AI and cybersecurity tracks are must-attend for anyone serious about future-proofing their skills.
Finally, what’s next for NDC Events? Do you see Manchester becoming a regular stop on the NDC calendar?
After Manchester, we head to NDC London at the QEII Centre in January, followed by events in Sydney, Toronto, Copenhagen, Oslo, and Lisbon. Manchester has been a fantastic addition to our calendar, and we fully intend to make it a regular stop — the local tech community’s energy and engagement make it a perfect fit for NDC.
Thank you Jakob!
