New Shopify store built for UK construction business Certifix

We’re excited to officially announce the launch of the brand new Certifix website – a transformative Shopify build designed and developed by Pixel Kicks to fuel the next stage of the company’s growth.

About Certifix

Certifix Ltd is a UK-based supplier of specialist fixings for the façade and construction industries. Their wide-ranging product catalogue includes everything from concrete fasteners and cladding fixings to screws, bolts, and chemical anchors.

With a strong reputation built on expert knowledge and reliable customer service, Certifix wanted a website that could match their ambitions – one that would not only look the part, but also serve as a major new sales channel.

The Challenge

Their previous website, built in-house using the Odoo platform, had served its purpose – but was beginning to show its age. The limitations were becoming increasingly clear:

  • Clunky and restrictive design
  • Usability issues for both customers and admin users
  • Weak analytics and poor data visibility
  • Inconsistent brand presentation

Certifix recognised the opportunity to evolve their ecommerce presence into a serious driver of revenue, and that meant starting with a solid digital foundation.

Project Goals

Working closely with the Certifix team, we defined a clear roadmap for the project:

  1. Build a scalable ecommerce store on Shopify
  2. Improve speed, usability, and responsiveness across all devices
  3. Implement a powerful, intelligent search function
  4. Retain and improve organic search visibility
  5. Create a modern design that reflects the Certifix brand
  6. Cater to both B2B and B2C audiences
  7. Futureproof the platform for PPC, SEO, and digital marketing activity

Our Solution

Following in-depth discovery and technical workshops, we delivered a Shopify-based solution designed for growth and usability. Key components included:

  • Shopify as the platform of choice – scalable, reliable, and packed with native ecommerce functionality
  • Plytix PIM integration – allowing Certifix to manage large volumes of product data and sync seamlessly with Shopify
  • Modern UX/UI design – inspired by best-in-class examples like Screwfix, Hilti, B&Q and Mango Bikes
  • SEO groundwork – including a full technical audit, Core Web Vitals optimisation, URL redirection strategy, and schema markup

Key Features

  • Centralised product data management via Plytix
  • Powerful product search and filtering functionality
  • Split shipping in the Shopify checkout
  • Custom metafields and flexible category filters
  • Full customer account area with order history and favourites
  • Integrated product enquiries alongside instant purchase options
  • Stock management tools with low-stock alerts
  • Multiple payment options including Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay, and Google Pay
  • Google Analytics 4 integration, plus optional Facebook and LinkedIn tracking
  • Hands-on training for the Certifix team

The Results

The end result is a bold new digital presence that marks a huge leap forward for Certifix. The new website offers a significantly improved user experience across both desktop and mobile, making it easier than ever for customers to browse and purchase products.

It also presents a strong, clearly defined brand identity, helping to reinforce Certifix’s position within the construction and façade fixings sector.

Behind the scenes, the platform is built to scale, with a robust product catalogue capable of supporting tens of thousands of SKUs. Technically, it provides a solid foundation ready for advanced SEO, PPC, and future digital marketing campaigns.

A Platform Built for the Future

The Certifix project is a strong example of how traditional B2B businesses can modernise and unlock new growth opportunities. With a dynamic new Shopify website in place, Certifix are now in a perfect position to scale their online business, drive digital sales, and deliver an outstanding ecommerce experience for their customers.
