What is RISE networking?

RISE Networking Events.
Brought to you by four leading Manchester Businesses.
Supported by the Manchester Chamber of Commerce.
It’s time to shine. It’s time to RISE.

What is RISE?

Our RISE networking events will be unlike any others you will have attended. They are
brought to you by four partners, each a leading Manchester business in their field, and
supported by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce.

We will each be sharing our own knowledge from our specific area of expertise, with the goal
of helping and supporting local businesses.
The 2nd ‘RISE’ event will be held on the 6th of July, 8:30 am, at Clarke Nicklin House, SK8
3TD.

The Partners

WilsonCooke - Brand Performance Marketing Specialists

Bermans - A multi-award-winning practice of commercial, forward-thinking lawyers.

Clarke Nicklin - Chartered Accountants who understand your business to support your
growth.

Michael Page - Recruitment Specialists.

Where did the idea of RISE events come from?

12 months ago, here at WilsonCooke, we began to host bi-monthly, short interactive events,
our “Learning Lunches.” As a forward-thinking brand performance agency, we wanted to
give back to our clients, and any other parties who were interested in attending.

Our learning lunches consist of either a member of our in-house team or a guest speaker,
covering their own area of expertise, and relating it to business and marketing topics for the
benefit of all in attendance.

But the idea of creating our own networking events, now our RISE events, stemmed from
Colin Dean, Business Development Manager at Bermans, our solicitors. He invited Nicole
Whittingham, the Performance Director at WilsonCooke, and Louise Bird, the Internal Sales
and Marketing Manager; who also happens to be our resident Superwoman, ensuring
everything runs smoothly, to a quarterly Business Club event, focused on The Financial
Outlook, in November 2021, in Liverpool.

The Business Club events run by Bermans, our solicitors and an award-winning practice of
forward-thinking and commercial lawyers, have been hugely successful, and Nicole and
Lousie approached Bermans to see if they would be interested in a joint venture. Partnering
with Bermans allowed us to develop our own series of events, aimed at helping businesses
in Manchester and the North West thrive throughout 2022. Naturally, we asked Bermans to
partner with us.

We also reached out to Michael Page, recruitment specialists, who recruit for permanent,
temporary, contract and interim opportunities for SMEs right up to global, blue-chip
organisations. To complete the partnership, we reached out to Clarke Nicklin, chartered
accountants based in Stockport, but servicing clients both locally and internationally, and
who support the growth of businesses by understanding them.

The four of us, the four partners, each bring something different to the table. We are all
specialists in our industries, who have risen to the top by understanding our customers, and
their needs.

And at our RISE networking events, our aim, as a collective, is to help Manchester and North
West businesses thrive, not just survive. By sharing our combined knowledge and expertise,
we believe we will be able to do just that. We are also being supported by the Greater
Manchester Chamber of Commerce, which supports North West businesses and helps them
to grow.

The Day

The 2nd instalment of our ‘RISE’ events will be on the 6th of July, with a morning of
networking, advice and relationship building.

There will be two guest speakers at the event from Michael Page, the recruitment
specialists.

Mark Lawson-Jones - Partner at Page Executive

Matthew Devine - Customer Engagement Director at PageGroup

They will be discussing the shortages in the labour market, giving us a market update, as
well as recruitment solutions and tips!

At this event you will receive a market update and learn about:

1. Why is it so difficult to recruit at the moment?
2. Is this the most difficult time ever to recruit?
3. The effect of the cost of living on the Labour market
4. Workplace Inclusion & Retention

Did we mention that there's complimentary coffee and breakfast too, as well as networking
opportunities both before and after the event? We’d love to see you there!

And remember, this is just the second event in a series of four, so keep an eye out for the
next instalment!
