Our panel of experts will discuss which technologies are the most valuable to Manchester and where we are showing genuine strength. 14:45 - 15:45 | The Techlash: in conversation with Carl Miller. Hosted by Michael Taylor, Manchester Metropolitan University Carl is author of The Death of the Gods: The New Global Power Grab. Carl is also the Research Director of the Centre for the Analysis of Social Media (CASM) at Demos. The session will look at how technology is damaging democracy; the risk to our homes and jobs and the effect of the shifting economic models on society and individuals. The session will provide fascinating insight into how traditional power is being diminshed by technology and who really holds the power now. |
