How it works
We will workshop with 20 people to create 5 or more potential businesses teams. These will be show cased to mentors and investors of the night of Tuesday 15th November.
By potential business, we aim to develop a minimum viable product, a minimum viable market and a minimum viable startup team.
We use the lean startup principles coupled with the Manchester Business School developed eTeamTool.
We will involve a venture capitalist, a business angel, and 2 or 3 hand picked mentors / non-execs, to help us deliver our weekend.
When
The event will run on the 11th (Friday 9am to 6pm) and 12th (Saturday 10 to 3.30pm) of November and the evening of Tuesday 15th November (6pm to 8pm).
About the facilitator
The programme is run by me, Neil Lewis, author of 100 Rules for Entrepreneurs. Among a variety of startup ventures, I built, with my partners, a £12m business from a back bedroom startup and an initial £2k stake.
I have been working with North West freelancers, entrepreneurs, startups, business angels and venture capitalists since September 2009 to develop and deliver products, tools, events and workshop to facilitate and speed up the rate of successful startup launches.
My specialist skill is in launching and running startup businesses in the digital, media or knowledge based sector.
Costs
The Innospace Accelerator Weekend is free to attend. Although, we can only offer places to 20 individuals.
Yes, we do accept individuals, however, you will be placed in a team, which will be selected based on the eTeamTool assessment.
If you are accepted onto the programme, then you will be asked to make a deposit of £50 - which is refundable on the Tuesday evening (15th) when you complete the weekend.
Equally, you will be expected to provide your own computers, mobile phones, expenses and accommodation etc… Any costs incurred by the business, such as a domain name purchase, will be a matter for the individuals in each team.
