Manchester City Council leader Sir Richard Leese is to address Insider's Manchester Economic Forum next week and will seek to tackle some key issues affecting the city's economy.

Manchester regional governance structure has undergone a period of significant change over the past year following the introduction of Local Enterprise Partnerships, the Combined Authority and the restructure of the Manchester 'family' of organisations, which includes MIDAS and Marketing Manchester.

The city is also in the running to host the government's new Green Investment Bank and has been designated a "core city" that will provide it with new powers from Whitehall and could lead to the introduction of an elected mayor.

But what does it all mean for businesses in the region? Insider's Manchester Economic Forum, taking place on 18 January 2012, will aim to address some of these issues and more.

Confirmed panellists for the event include Sir Richard; Mike Emmerich, chief executive of New Economy; and Rachel Combie, director of strategic marketing at Marketing Manchester.

The event takes place at Sunlight House on Quay Street in Manchester from 7.30am. for more details and to book your ticket, please contact Lianne Sunderland on 0161 907 9741.
