This Month's meeting is a double bill of talks.

In "Freeing Data with Free Software", Ric Roberts of Swirrl will:

"be exploring the benefits and pitfalls of using free software to build my company's open-data publishing platform. I'd also like to discuss with the group its opinions on licensing models for releasing part of our platform as a free software 'community edition'."

In "UK Copyright: Past, Present and Future", Michael Dorrington of Manchester Free Software will:

"be taking a whirlwind tour of UK Copyright from its begins to the present and then to the future. This includes an insight into what is currently being taught in schools about copyright, the idea of 'fair dealing' and opening discussion into where UK copyright law will go."

The event will include a Q&A sessions, discussions and then lively debate in the pub afterwards.

Location
The meeting will take place at the usual time, 7pm, at Madlab on Edge Street in the Northern Quarter. "(Between Thomas St and the Craft Centre, opposite A Bar Called Common)". The venue provides wifi. The talk is followed by an informal discussion in the bar opposite (A Place Called Common).
