The Technology Strategy Board is to invest up to £1.8m in feasibility projects that address the converged nature of the digital landscape. The programme will be delivered in three challenges during 2012.  They are seeking projects that focus on convergence in hyper-local media models, content origination tools, and analytical feedback and metrics tools.

Creative Industries KTN will be hosting a half day event around challenge 2 of the funding competition which focuses at the feasibility of projects that will lead to true cross-platform origination of content, the collaborative generation of ideas, and new business models for content based on cross-media formats and consumption.

This session will provide an opportunity for potential applicants to learn more about the programme and how to apply to it.

Competition Background

The UK is one of the world leading exporters of content in distinct traditional media formats such as novels, films, games and music. The UK has also become a leading developer of TV game show formats (such as the X Factor and Who Wants to be a Millionaire). Individual skills in particular disciplines have led the way in relatively traditional idea-to-product origination processes.

Projects must be business-led and are open to small and micro companies working either singly or in collaboration with one another. Academics can apply, but only as part of a consortium.

Grant Offered for Proposals: £56,250 and 75% funding with the total project cost at £75K
