This event has now ended.
RealUX is a local #Manchester #UX event on March 13th as part of RealUX Manchester. These talks focus on showing the process, rather than the finished thing, so our audience can learn as much as possible to apply to their own work. On the 13th we have 2 talks by 2 Manchester-born digital platforms, UserTest.io and Piing

6:30 - Usertest.io
User Onboarding: Testing and Personalisation for UX-ers

User on-boarding, that bridge between sign-up and successful and/or continued usage of your digital service, is crucial.

Your on-boarding process can make or break how new users understand your service and the value they see in it.

In this talk, Preston from UserTest.io, will look at how on-boarding influences the entire user experience. We'll share our experience of analysing, designing and testing the on-boarding process at UserTest.io, sharing the lessons we learnt along the way.

7.30 - Piing Events (a multiplayer arcade game) -
An interactive talk illustrating the design challenges of multiplayer games for events.

Piing is a multiplayer arcade game platform for events (https://piing.events/@piinglive). A totally new idea in event interaction, players join in the action on the big screen instantly using their own phones as controllers. Piing is the first product developed by Rhythm Digital, a creative technology studio in Manchester, in conjunction with digital producer Jay Roche. They’ll describe the unique technical, creative and commercial challenges the team have faced developing the Piing platform as it has grown from a clever tech demo to a suite of games and a fully featured SaaS product aimed at event managers. Less powerpoint slides and more playing in this talk about the journey the team went through to come up with a unique piece of event tech.
