The role:
We are looking to recruit an Infrastructure Site Reliability Engineering Manager.
Your role will unlock the significant benefits expected; improved application availability, improved business continuity at low cost, elastic scaling and commodity pricing that enables the business to only pay for what it needs. Along with the migration of on-prem to best-in-class infrastructure you will work with the technology teams to build, understand, and maintain their own infrastructure you will be a key problem-solving resource that the teams can leverage your expertise of Azure.

Key skills:

  • In-depth experience with at least one major cloud provider (Proffered Azure)
  • Demonstrated DevOps and software engineering skills in Terraform.
  • Competent with legacy & Cloud infrastructure.
  • Competent VMWARE experience
  • Competent networking experience.
  • Configuration and licence management with 3rd parties
  • Focus on the reliability and performance of applications, but also of the wider perspective on the needs and priorities of the business
  • Maintain existing infrastructure with a view to future developments
  • Help with the integration of Microsoft Azure services into operations including monitoring, automation, standardisation of methods/procedures
  • Managing alerting across a host of systems
  • Server maintenance
  • Create and update documentation around cloud services, infrastructure and platform systems
  • Consistently exercise independent judgment

About you:

  • Knowledge of a broad range of IT infrastructure technologies
  • Application Performance Monitoring and Root Cause Analysis
  • Strong communication and organisation skills to work with our teams
  • Ability to engage with a broad range of people from front-line architects and operations to high level business users
  • Experience using Cloud services such as Amazon Web Service (AWS) or Microsoft Azure
  • Experience supporting live services and managing service outages
  • Computer science degree
  • Infrastructure and networking experience (preferred)
