As an SEO manager it’ll be up to you to improve SEO performance and drive more traffic to our websites. You’ll use various tools, including Google Analytics, to manage the sites performance and track this daily, spotting opportunities and making recommendations that overall improve the customer journey. We’ll look to you to build strong relationships with our internal leaders and external suppliers, and use in-depth research to craft your own SEO plan. This is an exciting role which comes with a real opportunity to make a difference to the way we do business for our customers, colleagues and members.

What you’ll do

  • use data gathered to spot opportunities and make recommendations for improvements
  • build relationships and work collaboratively with a variety of internal and external partners
  • work with digital analysts to gather insights to share with internal partners
  • run daily and weekly reports to track searches and site traffic
  • create and manage a 3-month SEO plan roadmap identifying goals and how to achieve them
  • manage conflicting priorities from different business areas, making sure we have the right content optimised at the right time

This role would suit people who have

  • experience working in an SEO role previously
  • the ability to use Google Analytics to make recommendations on optimising content
  • basic HTML knowledge and experience
  • a good analytical ability, able to use data and produce insights for the business
  • great understanding of how people search online and keyword research
  • experience using associated keyword research tools (e.g. Google Keyword Planner, SEMrush, AHrefs, Google Search Console, Deepcrawl)
  • link building and technical SEO knowledge would be a bonus but it’s not essential

Why Co-op?

Here you’ll do work that matters. We’re a commercial organisation with a purpose beyond profit, you’ll have an opportunity to help us build a stronger Co-op and stronger communities. You’ll also get a package that includes:

  • competitive salary
  • coaching, training and support to help you develop
  • pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • annual incentive scheme
  • 28 days holiday (rising to 32 in line with service)
  • discounts on Co-op products and services

Building an inclusive work environment

We’re actively building diverse teams and welcome applications from everyone. But simply having a diverse workforce is not enough. We aim to build an inclusive environment, where everyone can contribute their best work and develop to their full potential. We celebrate our differences, and recognise the importance of teams reflecting the communities they serve.

We can make reasonable adjustments to our interview process according to your needs. And we offer a flexible working environment so you can adjust your hours to suit your personal circumstances. You can find out more about Co-op people policies at coop.co.uk/peoplepolicies.
