The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially minded Project Manager to manage all aspects of an exciting project to deliver an IT solution that leverages Earth Observation data to support regulatory monitoring.
The ideal candidate will take ownership of the project and be able to develop strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues and clients. You will already have a solid understanding of the technologies used by the Compass Informatics team such as GIS, earth observation, and custom developed solutions (e.g. using technical stacks such as .Net/SQL/Azure; Java/Oracle; AWS, Open Source etc.).
The role will require a strong commercial focus, a solutions focused way of working and include managing the full resourcing lifecycle, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, commercial contract management and becoming the primary point of contact for this and future, similar projects, contributing to the strategic growth of the company.
What you will do
- Management of all aspects of project delivery, including monitoring and reporting key project performance and quality metrics such as budget, milestone timelines and alignment to scope.
- Management of the implementation of solution.
- Project resource allocation ensuring optimal utilisation and efficiency of resources.
- Work with the Talent Acquisition team to identify, hire and onboard new talent in line with project requirements.
- Collaborate with the Senior Management team to support the Contract Management process including Key Account Management.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Utilize GIS and earth observation technical knowledge to understand resource requirements and identify internal resources to align.
- Ensure compliance with client and company policies such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials.
- Ensuring that resource management practices comply with organisational policies, regulations, and industry standards. This also involves identifying and mitigating risks related to resource management.
You will have:
- ICT Project Management qualification in Agile and/or Prince 2 project management methodologies and comfortable in Agile and Scrum.
- Proven experience in the management of large ICT projects, ideally to commercial and public sector clients, and of providing cloud-based solutions.
- Experience of using project management tools such as Dev Ops/TFS, Atlassian Jira, Teamwork, MS Project or similar.
- A structured and forensic approach to project management, skilled in planning, tracking, coordinating and liaising.
- Experience of client and account management, preferably within the GIS or technology sector.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Commercially minded with a strategic approach to creating and identifying opportunities for growth.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Desirable:
- Experience with, or good understanding of, GIS software tools and/or earth observation and machine learning.
- Knowledge of the latest trends and developments in earth observation and custom development.
