Zuhlke Engineering is an international consultancy that helps companies achieve success by turning ideas into real-life results. To do this, we provide interdisciplinary teams, currently across Europe and Asia, to work closely with our customers to deliver solutions. In the UK, we support digital innovation and embedded software. Across the group, we cover digital systems, Internet-connected devices, and physical product design (embedded and mechatronics).

Your job will involve working in small teams, communicating closely with our clients to design, develop, test, and ship systems that deliver value. You will be looking both to contribute to the company and to grow personally.

Your job will include:

  • Taking hands-on ownership and responsibility for the UX / UI on assigned product and innovations teams.
  • Advocating for the user to craft quality, enjoyable, and engaging experiences.
  • Balancing business requirements, technical constraints and design sensibilities to deliver realisable solutions.
  • Conducting timely, relevant research and data analysis to capture insights.
  • Applying the understanding of insights in your design process to shape and evolve solutions. 
  • Gaining design sign-off through alignment and consensus of stakeholders.
  • Facilitating workshops and collaborative design sessions to promote shared understanding.
  • Building design advocacy across teams and organisations.
  • Working lean, openly, and collaboratively within an Agile cross-functional team, whilst championing quality UI.
  • Some travel to other locations in the UK and mainland Europe. 

Skills & Requirements:

  •  Skills and aptitude to adapt to different UX processes and tooling environments.
  • Able to design and produce user centred design deliverables to the required fidelity and polish.
  • Attention to detail, as much at a business requirements level as a pixel placement level.
  • Demonstrable experience and creativity in designing IA, interaction, navigation, consumer facing, branded UI, for mobile, tablet and desktop.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills across all levels of organisational audiences.
  • Constructive participant in design critiques, both giving and receiving actionable feedback.
  • Use of best practices, UCD methodologies, design principles, accessibility guidelines, and industry trends.

 Our work is mainly at or within an hour's travel from our Manchester office.
