Chief Marketing Officer
Platform Markets Group
A member of the Bar of England & Wales (non-practising) Nicola has been involved in the digital infrastructure since 1997. Originally working on network rollout advisory following deregulation in her role as Managing Partner at The Philips Group, Nicola became interested in the buildings facilitating interconnect which led to her researching and writing the world’s first report on the colocation industry, then in its infancy.
One of the original founders of Broadgroup, the company responsible for the creation of the DataCloud series of events, Nicola continued to work on strategic due diligence and advisory globally across the data centre sector for the next decade.
Following completion of an MSc in International Marketing, Nicola was responsible for developing and launching DCD Intelligence globally and spent some time on the techUk data centre council as well as taking on the role of MD of the EUDCA.
Nicola then entered the world of academia. Firstly as Course Director for the Marketing degree programmes at London South Bank University and then as Associate Dean of the LSBU Business School where she was responsible for academic engagement, regulation and revalidation of the school’s degree programmes. This was followed by a role at Winchester University where Nicola was responsible for overseeing the business school degree apprentice programmes.
Nicola joined Platform Markets Group as Non Executive Director at its foundation and in 2025 took on the role of CMO. A regular speaker at industry events, as well as an advocate for the industry as a whole, Nicola has recently been appointed to the Board of TechUK
